Government Polytechnic, Awasari (Khurd) was established in 2008–09 by the Government of Maharashtra to provide quality technical education to rural and tribal students. The institute aims to develop skilled technicians and entrepreneurs who can contribute to national growth. It offers AICTE-approved diploma programs affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education (MSBTE). The institute is surrounded by three MIDCs: Chakan (26 km, an automobile hub with major international industries), Pimpri-Chinchwad (40 km, one of the largest industrial clusters in the region), and Ranjangaon (50 km). It is also about 65 km from Pune City, a major center of education and industry. Spread across 17 acres, the campus includes modern academic buildings, workshops, hostels, staff quarters, and sports facilities. The institute is committed to delivering effective, industry-oriented education and progressing toward international standards.

Institute has 7-branches namely: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Automobile, Computer and information Technology with each of 60-student intake capacity and total 420-students. I am Happy to state you here that 5- branches: Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering has been granted accreditation status. The success of accreditation is due to planned and disciplined environment of academics and co-curricular activities. The students and the faculties are of inquisitive attitude as per as the academic excellence is concerned.

The institute has an active placement cell. Renowned companies select the students through campus drive. We inculcate ethical values amongst students.
